Jean Brashear knows a lot about taking crazy chances. A lifelong avid reader, at the age of forty-five with no experience and no training, she decided to see if she could write a book. It was a wild leap that turned her whole life upside down, but she would tell you that though she's never been more terrified, she's never felt more exhilarated or more alive. She's an ardent proponent of not putting off your dreams until that elusive 'someday'—take that leap now.
Jean sold her first book two years after she began writing and with her debut release was selected as the 1998 Special Edition "Woman to Watch" by Silhouette Books. A 2003 RITA finalist as well as winner of the Romantic Times Reviewers' Choice Award, her books have finaled for or won numerous other awards including the RT's Career Achievement Award for Series Storyteller of the Year, Golden Quill, Notable New Author, Holt Medallion, Texas Gold, Laurel Wreath and Colorado Award for Excellence.
Speaking engagements have included the Romantic Times Convention and the Romance Writers of America National Conference, as well as various regional conferences and local groups. She was the 2004 president of Novelists Inc., an international, multi-genre organization of published writers of popular fiction.
A true believer in romance, Jean wants to give today's reader—juggling diverse responsibilities from carpools to critical care, grocery lists to corporate mergers—great stories that will recharge the batteries, warm the heart, and fire the imagination. Jean invites readers to journey with her into the worlds inside her mind—worlds where the ruling passion is the power of love--the magic that makes any life a grand adventure.
